Emma the Bard

Emma the Bard

Emma is the musical voice of Hearthlight Studios. Her songs are set around the Glen — its people, its weather, its work, and the quiet humour that runs through everyday life there.

The music sits in two familiar places: the tavern and the hearth. Between them they carry most of the shape of the world.

The tavern songs

The Wednesday songs are quicker and more public. They are meant to feel like they belong in a room with other people in it.

They carry movement, humour, and the sort of observations that travel easily from table to table.

The hearth songs

The Sunday songs are quieter. They sit closer to the end of the day than the middle of it.

They are about rest, memory, and the feeling that work has been set down where it should be.

The Glen

The Glen is not presented all at once. It appears gradually through songs, names, and small pieces of place.

Morag’s tavern, the fields, the river paths, and the settlements around them form the ground the music stands on.

Within the studio

Emma sits at the centre of the narrative side of Hearthlight Studios.

The work around her includes songs, small pieces of setting, and longer material that will take shape over time.
